Encouraging Results From San Antonio I Concession Vancouver, B.C. (September 14, 1999) - Atna Resources Ltd. and Energold Mining Ltd. report assay results from the 1,205 metre, six-hole, Phase 2 drill program on the San Antonio I Concession a volcanogenic massive sulphide property located in the Dominican Republic (see table). Hole SA99-11 tested a shallow geochemical and geophysical anomaly 300 metres west of the Copper Zone high-grade discovery hole SA99-07 and intersected two massive sulphide zones. The upper zone averaged 1.8% zinc, 20 g/t silver and 1.65 g/t gold over 6.7 metres (including a 1 metre interval of 4.4% zinc, 5.27 g/t gold ). A narrow 0.1 metre intersection averaging 2.3% copper, 8.2% zinc, 68.2 g/t silver and 3.67 g/t gold was cut at a deeper level. Hole SA99-12, located 120 metres along strike to the east of SA99-07, intersected 4.6 metres of banded massive sulphides grading 1.1% copper, 10.2% zinc, 0.04% lead, 53.8 g/t silver and 2.03 g/t gold. The above intersection was followed by 24.7 metres of footwall stringer mineralization averaging 0.5% copper, 1.5% zinc, 15.1 g/t silver and 0.49 g/t gold. These massive sulphides appear to be the extension of the high grade mineralization intersected in hole SA99-07. Hole SA99-15, collared to intersect mineralization 100 metres down-dip from hole SA99-12, intersected 0.3 metres of stringer mineralization grading 0.8% copper, 0.3% zinc, 15.4 g/t silver and 0.54 g/t gold. The Copper Zone mineralization has now been intersected in 5 drill holes over a 400 metre strike length and up to 120 metres in the down-dip direction. The zone is open inthree directions. Holes SA99-13 and 14 were drilled down-dip of previously intersected massive sulphide mineralization in the La Parcela Zone. Hole 13 cut 0.5 metres of massive sulphide grading 2.5% copper, 6.3% zinc, 0.2% lead, 101.5 g/t silver and 6.86 g/t gold. Hole 14 intersected significant base and precious metal stringer mineralization. The La Parcela mineralization remains open along strike to the west. Hole SA99-16 tested a recently discovered geological and coincident geochemical anomaly 1.7 km east from the Copper Zone. Stringer base and precious metal mineralizationwas intersected. Results from the drilling, geological and geochemical surveys are being compiled to determine what areas warrant furtherwork.
