Don't get too cute... read the January column on Voicestream and Omnipoint and look at their charts before telling me about short term investing in mobile telecom. We'll see what was the better long-term bet in a couple of years... not months. If you try to argue that Qualcomm management has actually had a smart handset strategy you have to get more specific. Where those clueless comments about rising profit margins early this summer really all that thoughtful? Why is it smart to sell the division *after* the profit margin and market share concerns have surfaced?

We don't have to go on arguing about growth rates of digital standards. I can think of many more interesting topics. Like global roaming and the implications on operators and manufactures. Let's move on.
