NewsPage.com Selects Grey Advertising as Agency of Record
Major Campaign Planned to Expand NewsPage.com's Position as Leader in Individualized News and Information on the Internet
BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999-- NewsPage.com, the leader in delivering free, highly individualized news and information to business people over the Internet, today announced the selection of Grey Advertising as its first advertising agency of record.
Grey will manage all brand, creative, media and promotion strategy and development for NewsPage.com. The agency will begin working immediately on a major branding campaign for NewsPage.com. The campaign is expected to be introduced in mid-fall 1999.
"Grey demonstrated they have what it takes to grow the NewsPage.com business dramatically and quickly - both critical to our success," said Kathy Greenler, vice president of marketing, NewsPage.com. "We have high expectations -- especially as our initial marketing investments have already helped dramatically grow NewsPage.com unique users -- that our partnership with Grey will create substantial market momentum."
"NewsPage.com provides business people with the best, most individualized news, information and services available on the Internet today. Grey gives us the highest caliber branding and creative capabilities needed to show the market how superior NewsPage.com is compared to other Internet business news and information services, " said Greenler.
NewsPage.com had previously retained Beyond Interactive as its online media-buying agency. Beyond Interactive was recently acquired by Grey Advertising and will continue to serve as the NewsPage.com online media agency. "Grey is very effective in both the online and traditional worlds, and that's what it's going to take for us to meet our ambitious growth goals. We like the synergies between Grey and Beyond Interactive," added Greenler.
"No other Internet news and information company can compete with the NewsPage.com vision and service," said Maureen P. Maldari, senior vice president, Grey Advertising. "The fact that NewsPage.com's user base is so extensive, loyal and demographically appealing makes this account an advertising dream. NewsPage.com already reaches the largest and most discerning community of business people on the Internet today. It's a wonderful expression of confidence to be asked to help take NewsPage.com to the next level."
The appointment of Grey Advertising follows a review of leading full service advertising agencies and media buying firms. Recently, NewsPage.com named TheJelly Public Relations (http://www.thejelly.com) as its public relations agency of record.
Offering a highly individualized Internet service to a growing community of well-educated, successful business people, NewsPage.com is making significant investments in marketing and new service enhancements. NewsPage.com's major branding and marketing communications effort will target current and potential users, advertisers and e-commerce retailers and providers.
