Hello everybody!

Is this the reason for today's drop? This reminds me of the market's reaction when Intel announced their foray into data centers. I'll keep on holding.

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- To meet escalating business demand, AT&T said Tuesday it'll build up to 26 Internet data centers to handle corporate e-commerce and other web-related services.

AT&T will double the size of centers in New York, San Diego and San Francisco by year end and add new ones in Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas,Los Angeles and Seattle. Overseas, centers will be created in at least three spots, the United Kingdom,Germany and the Asia/Pacific region. Other sites will be named later.

"We're experiencing unprecedented demand from "dot com" companies that want world-class Web hosting and co-location services," said Michael Keith, president of AT&T Business Services. "Our data centers will be mission control for companies that want to launch their business to the next level." See press release.

The data centers will direct business traffic to and from the Internet over AT&T's digital Internet-based backbone, which will help speed up page downloads, provide greater security, result in fewer interruptions and ensure that companies can get enough bandwidth whenever they need it.

Demand for such services are exploding as more companies move to do business on the web. As they come to rely more on the Internet for vital functions, however, companies want greater reliability and help operating their web sites. AT&T, MCI WorldCom and others are rushing to address those needs.

Shares of AT&T (T: news, msgs), a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, slipped 1/8 to 45 in recent trading.
