Ouch... I'm getting a whiplash. I could swear that in June every Q-phile was ready to swear on their grandmother's grave that handsets are a *crucial* strategic asset to Qualcomm. I distinctly remember reading an interview where a Qualcomm executive was confidently forecasting that Q can stay ahead of Motorola and be the number two digital phone brand at year's end. Another interview was abuzz with talk about handset profit margin *expansion* towards the end of the year. Is there a collective amnesia here at SI or have I been reading Reuters news items from some sinister alternate universe? Someone could base a decent "Outer Limits" episode on this situation.
