DiamondWorks appoints two new vice-presidents DiamondWorks Ltd DMW Shares issued 150,962,743 Sep 13 close $0.14 Tue 14 Sept 99 News Release Mr. Bruce Walsham reports John Firth has been appointed as vice-president, operations, for Angola. Mr. Firth, who has served as the company's Angolan country manager, will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations. Mr. Firth replaces David Lenigas in this capacity, who resigned as the company's chief operating officer effective Sept. 1. The company acknowledges the contribution of Mr. Lenigas in helping re-establish full production at the Yetwene and Luo mines. Dr. Stephen Grimmer has been appointed as vice-president, project development. Dr. Grimmer, a leading authority on kimberlite evaluation and development, has been with the company since 1997 in a senior technical capacity. In this new role, he will focus on the expansion of the company's Angolan projects with particular emphasis on the development of the Camatchia kimberlite pipe. DiamondWorks' monthly diamond production from Angola is currently averaging between 12,000 and 15,000 carats. A new single-day production record of 1,267 carats was set on Sept. 10.
