BS- Also DVD Rrecorders are not rugged enough to serve as an aquisition format on board a camera. Even though Digital Disk Recorders have been available for a long time in the broadcast-professional realm they have yet to make substantial inroads as an acquisition medium. An Avid/Ikegami partnership has produced one model, but they are a very small percentage of the market. Digital VCRs are far more practical and will be the format of choice for a few more years. Besides, you can't play your existing VHS home movies on a DVD machine. My 2 cents. Tony
