ADSL Vs. SDSL (CSCO entering market ?)

Recently I read about SDSL that is being experimented
with by the telcos. Though I understand the value in ADSL
and have no doubt that ISDN will be displaced, I wonder if
SDSL might be better than ADSL.....Symmetric bandwidth
technology of SDSL is being researched by telcos because
it seems to be better suited for Video conferencing and
other similar apps.

The other point to consider is Cisco's plans in this arena.
Has CSCO already announced what it is planning on ADSL or
SDSL ? Anyone know details ? What about BNET and COMS ?
Is there a possibility for AMTX to be bought out ?
Considering the pace of expansion and consolidation of
technologies by the big 3, this is a possibility too....
