Batteries - DRGI announced that it has finalized an Agreement with D.H.A. Corp. to be the Company's first mobile distributor for the direct sale of replacement battery packs. Under the Performance Based Exclusive Agreement, D.H.A. Real Estate - DRGI finalized an Agreement with Matheny Development, LLC of Cary, North Carolina. The Agreement allows the Company to acquire a 607.74 acre parcel of real estate known as the Falls River Real Estate Development project. It is located in one of the fastest growing markets in the United States, North Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. The equity in the property will provide the Company with one of the requirements for its proposed NASDAQ National Market Systems listing application. (Get all the stories at quicken.excite.com )
DRGI announced that that Westminster Homes, a division of Washington Homes, Inc. (NYSE: ''WHI'') has signed a Letter of Commitment to purchase 300 single family and multi-family building lots in DRGI's Falls River Development. The purchase, valued in excess of $15,000,000, will allow Westminster Homes to be a key builder within the project.
DRGI also finalized an Agreement with Ocean Golf Group for the sale of the Golf Course and Destination Hotel property tracts within the Company's Falls River Real Estate Development. The Agreement calls for Ocean Golf Group to construct an 18 Hole Championship Level Public Fee Golf Course, and a 200+ room Luxury Destination Hotel on the property. Under the Agreement, Ocean Golf Group will pay DRGI $2,000,000 for the property.
DRGI has formalized a Letter of Intent with Drucker & Falk, LLC, a major apartment management and development firm headquartered in Newport News, Virginia. The Letter of Intent calls for Drucker & Falk, LLC to purchase lots for the build-out of 800 apartment units within the Falls River Development.
Falls River is one of the most successful mixed-use/residential communities in the Research Triangle marketplace in North Raleigh, North Carolina. The site is currently zoned for 1,600 units and a commercial center which will include a 200+ room hotel along with a neighborhood shopping center and office complex. The Championship Golf Course will open a new market for apartments, townhomes, single family and retirement housing. Golf demand is very high in this area with no public courses within the ten-mile adjoining neighborhoods.
HIV Test - DRGI is in the final stages of acquiring Virotest, a patented HIV screening test. It is a low-cost HIV saliva-based screening test protected under United States Patent No. 5,149,623 and currently approved in Canada and Mexico. In addition, the Company has a contractual relationship with Quintiles, a multi-billion dollar bio-tech firm.
