On the short side, summary of G* problems Top>Business & Finance>Investments>Sectors>Services>Communications Services>GSTRF (Globalstar Telecommun.) Shorted it today by: SargeJhcky (38/M/West Point) 12508 of 12509 Used to be a long. Too many problems now. Proven that there's no real market. Globalstar has no good answers for roll out strategy. Phones too expensive and bulky. Don't work in cars where 90% of portable phone users call from. Not without the hideous external antenna anyway. Too much debt. Too many Tellco partners don't seem to know what to do about marketing. The online brokers losing faith and making it non marginable. More press coming out daily that questions Globalstar's future. Market fundamentals dictate a big correction looming anyway. I just don't see good things happening for Globalstar, at least not for several years. Loral is way down today. Globalstar will follow tomorrow. Shorting to 18 or lower. I like the system and was long once. But it's destined to fall, and fall big.
