I design my comments to raise eyebrows to the fact that Intel has become bloated.

There are other players out there ready push them off the hill.

AMD has been making great developments with their chips. I think they are a marketing program away from being top of the heap.

-CPQ would probably do best to keep an eye out on other technologies.

-CPQ needs to differentiate themselves from the rest of the market.

Like I said, I have Compaqs at home and work, but my most recent computer was a PentiumII 450 that I built from scrap parts and a motherboard I got at a computer show. There was nothing special about Compaq to keep me in their brand-line.

In fact, my techy geek friends rag on me for buying Compaqs in the first place.

PC-wise I will buy the cheapest machine I can get.

Someday E-machines may buy CPQ.
