Fifty-Plus.Net International Inc.
Catches the Internet Wave for the Baby Boomers

Toronto - September 1, 1999 - As the baby boomers move into the 50 + age
bracket, it's becoming more and more apparent that Canadians over the age
of 50 constitute one of the most dramatic growth markets in North America.
By the year 2000, 28% of all Canadians will be 50 or older. This represents
a staggeringly affluent and influential demographic with 55% of the
nation's discretionary spending power, and owning 80% of Canada's personal
wealth. There are now 8.1 million Canadians in the 50+ age group, and
Canada's premier online web site for the fifty plus has seen its number of
visitors increase dramatically since it went public in June.
www.fifty-plus.net is uniquely positioned to enhance its position as a
network that will be the leader in Canadian Internet providers geared to
users over the age of fifty.

To meet the needs of this growing market, www.fifty-plus.net went public on
the Vancouver Stock Exchange under the listing FPN on June 30th, 1999.
Reaction has been very favourable. "We are thrilled with the response from
investors, the online community and the media." says Dan Goldhar, president
and CEO of Fifty-Plus.Net International Inc. "We are always looking at new
ways for the site to be informative and fun for the users. With this public
offering we expect to lead the Internet industry with community-focussed
content specifically targeted to the 50+ Internet user."

Of the 8.1 million 50 + Canadians (26.7% of all Canadians), about 800,000
or 10% are Internet users. They represent 13% of the total of users in
Canada. Evidence suggests that these numbers may be changing. In the US 21%
of all online purchases are made by people over the age of 50. This trend
will move north into Canada very soon. Goldhar says "The mature person
brings a kaleidoscope of subtleties to the decision making process. The
easy access to information on the Internet will ultimately help and
facilitate their buying decisions." Goldhar believes this will enable aging
boomers to shop and purchase items all from the comforts of home. "It's the
way the retail industry is headed and we are very pleased to be leading the
way." He says these consumers have the money, time, curiosity and access to
this type of buying and want to explore alternative ways to shop. "This way
they don't have to leave home to research their purchases or buy the
information is a mouse click away."

www.fifty-plus.net is also the online host of CARP, Canada's Association
for the Fifty Plus. CARP with 370,000 members, is Canada's national
non-profit organization, representing individuals over the age of 50,
retired or not. It is an autonomous and independent organization aimed a
preserving and protecting the rights of and providing useful information,
and cost savings for all Canadians 50+. www.fifty-plus.net is the online
home of CARP News, which in turn helps CARP provide a united voice for all
8 million Canadians over the age of 50.

At www.fifty-plus.net the goal is to provide a community that helps
Canadians over the age of fifty live rich and rewarding lives.
www.fifty-plus.net provides a safe, friendly, entertaining and comfortable
setting where people can log on and explore the 50+ network. With useful
and meaningful content aimed at the 50+ audience, the network is a
fascinating and efficient way to explore the Internet. Users over the age
of fifty are able to interact with their peers and friends through the
"Back Fence" of www.fifty-plus.net, an online community centre. Members of
the "Back Fence" can participate in all kinds of entertaining content and
features, meet new friends, and stay in touch with other friends and family
in a quick, reliable and inexpensive manner.
