FYI, in terms of CPQ:Internet Procurement

Compaq Computer Corporation, which has purchased Oracle Internet Procurement to increase productivity and streamline business operations, joins more than 300 existing customers of the leading e-business procurement solution available today. Oracle Internet Procurement, a critical e-business application, can result in a 10 to 20 percent reduction in total purchasing costs, and yield up to a 300 percent return on investment (ROI) after the first year of deployment.

Customer Relationship Management

Oracle delivers world-class customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, currently supported by approximately 800 dedicated Oracle CRM developers. A key CRM customer win this quarter was VERITAS Software Corporation.

"By selecting to integrate Oracle applications, we are continuing our commitment toward customer responsiveness," said Ken Lonchar, senior vice president, CFO, VERITAS Software. "Oracle applications, when powered by and protected with our own application storage management solutions, will enable VERITAS Software to increase the level of knowledge across the organization and ensure that, as we continue to grow, vital information is both accessible and available at all times."

Many global customers, including Singapore's i-One.Net International Ltd., have purchased Oracle's CRM applications to more fully understand and track vital customer information throughout their lifecycles, from lead generation to post-sale customer support.

"i-One is Singapore's first multifunctional online portal that is accessible through the Internet," said Mr. K.K. Fong, chief executive of i-One.Net International Ltd. "We are pleased to work with Oracle to deliver i-One's unique, complete, business-to-business and e-commerce solutions to support our aggressive online programmes for businesses and consumers."

In the Netherlands, Oracle will be developing a complex call center solution for a "Call Center Supervisor curriculum" organized by four colleges; Hogescholl IJselland; Hogescholl Holland, School for Business Studies; Hogescholl Limburg and Hanze Hogescholl.

Oracle Applications

As companies strive to compete in today's web-centric market, many are turning to Oracle Applications' Internet-based solutions in order to become more effective e-businesses.

Significant new Oracle Applications customers in the United States include Hormel Foods, Nextlink Communications, and Starbelly.com, a business-to-business consumer "e-tailor" of custom-decorated, brand-name merchandise that can be designed and purchased on the Internet.

Numerous enterprises around the world are also using a variety of Oracle Applications' products to move into the exploding e-business market, including Creative Technology Ltd (Singapore), The Ministry of Education (Singapore), Pohang Iron & Steel Co. Since last quarter Oracle has doubled the number of customers it has signed to use Oracle Business OnLine (BOL) to host Oracle e-business applications, bringing the total to approximately 30 customers. New users include C-Bridge Communications, Exodus Communications, Inc., Financial Engines, and Marketing Out-of-the Box, Inc., a web-based company that provides back office order processing and pick, pack and ship functions to support e-commerce enterprises. Oracle BOL is the world's leading Internet application software hosting service that provides a complete end-to-end hosted solution for e-businesses.

"After an exhaustive search of the industry's Internet solution providers by company co-founder, Alison Haftl, we found that Oracle really is the most e-commerce and e-business-centric company out there," said David Newberger, president and co-founder, Marketing-out-of-the Box.
