Tippet,

The Austrian perspective appears to be very welcomed on this thread.

Let me make a few suggestions if you would like to read more. I've read all of these in full except Human Action. H.A. has a lot of stuff in it that is not really relevant to investors. It covers a lot of political, social and other topics. The sections on the business cycle, trade, money, etc.. are all excellent.

The downside of this material is that it gave me a better understanding of our current banking and monetary system and who it benefits and who it hurts. That has altered my politics and made me a bit angry with much of the financial establishment. Not that I'm hoping a few go belly up or anything when the bust comes (g). But, there is some truth to the saying "Ignorance is bliss."

Human Action - Mises
The Case Against the Fed - Rothbard
The Case for a 100% Gold Dollar - Rothbard
What Has Government Done to Our Money - Rothbard
The Austrian Theory of the Trade Cycle - (several authors)
The Gold Standard - Rockwell
