Heinz, some are looking for a good inflation number tomorrow

Despite the negative sentiment in the market, there was some talk of faster money "bottom fishing" in anticipation of a favorable inflation print tomorrow. In addition, some accounts were also putting on steepeners, while the bill sector remained well-bid amid talk of the BoJ putting money to work, as well as expectations of another round of intervention. Some support did come from a sharp decline in the CRB, with October crude back below $24 a barrel, weakness in stocks (at least the Dow), and comments late in the day from Tsy Sec Summers, who simply reiterated the Treasury's strong dollar policy.
