Joel,

Which companies are in direct competition with Citrix and is it considered the leader?

There is a company called GraphOn and another company it's been so long since I've heard of that I'm not sure of its name. It's called BlueMoon or something similar. But they've got nothing as I understand it compared to Citrix's 15 million inidividual users and 98 of the Fortune 100 companies as customers.

Java is also a form of competition, but it's very difficult to understand that and far beyond my abilities to explain it.

I know you indicated they may be close to the tornado phase; will it be the complete severance from Softie that will start the winds a howling?

No, I think the dominance of NT and Windows-based apps will still be the fuel for Citrix's fire for a long time and will be the prmiary source of the tornado.

Anyone interested in Citrix should follow the thread here at SI and pay special attention to MikeM. We've been following the company together for years, starting in our AOL days, and he's da man!

But I'll warn you ... Citrix is a very difficult company to understand and its execs don't do much to help in that matter. On the other hand, look at their top- and bottom-line growth. The management team has done very well.
