Syd,
I read the other suggestions (though I don't understand how to email a message to myself using Netscape).
My method is simpler and takes advantage of inherent Windows features, i.e. cut and paste. As I read through a thread, I highlight the message, press Ctrl-C, then I press Alt-Tab to switch to my word processor (wordPerfect), then press Ctrl-V to paste. This is not perfect, but it is a good start. After finishing a thread, I use two macros that reformat the text, taking out spaces, etc. Total time to cut and paste -- less than two seconds per message, and about 30 seconds to reformat using the macros.
I've used this message to save most of the messages on GRNO, and I add useful messages to my file (now over 800 pages) daily. "Useful" means GRNO info, invesing info, skeptical questions, examples of investor psychology, and insights otherwise forgotten. When you build your macros and when you add to your GRNO file, I can suggest some items to consider that will make the process easier, faster and less prone to unique formatting within the little box you see these words. |
