IVX price driven down by fear over terminated merger--

This is the second failed merger for Ivax, first was Norwegian pharmaceutical, Hafslund Nycomed, a few years ago.

I suspect that some SH's fear that BBC pulled out because it unearthed some surprisingly negative information, and that has caused a selling stampede. I think BBC just got cold feet because they (or their SH) didn't want to keep the deal in light of the discount in Ivax's post-merger trading price. In effect, to consummate the merger BBC would have had to pay a "premium" above market price for Ivax.

Anyway, I'm back into Ivax, picked up 2,000 shares at 8 3/8 this morning through E-Trade. I don't see Ivax getting beaten down much more, and think the stock could be back in the low teens within six months.
