<Intel has MILLIONS of CPUs at the HIGH END.

Do you think the MILLIONS of customers are going to stop and wait until next year some time to see if AMD has enough Athlon's to go around ?>

The top 2 speed grades in the CPU biz are about 20% of the CPU market and falling. AMD has the capacity to mop up most of that today! Now, we all know that is not going to happen until after Q4.

<In case you hadn't noticed, a 600 MHz Pentium /// is infinitley faster than a 650 MHz Athlon that either can't be obtained or can't be plugged into a motherboard.

Hint: AVAILABILITY SELLS (Engel's Law) - Promises DON'T Sell.>

No kidding! If you look at the free fall of PIII ASP, it is clear that Intel management seem to think that there is enough availability of Athlons at the OEM level.

May be you are referring to the CuMine or Wilamette, in which case you are right. Can't sell those yet.
