There are artificial lines being drawn all over the place, there's no avoiding it. How do you qualify rape? Does there have to be a conviction? If you demand a conviction, how do you ensure getting it before the 1st-trimester deadline has passed? What if the guy isn't caught? Where do we classify date rape, statutory rape - do you have any idea how many girls under 15 are impregnated by men over 20 every year? What about the drunk husband who wouldn't take "no" for an answer? Does his wife have to choose between prosecuting or bearing the kid? How many young incest victims, or those raped by those who know them well, are going to claim entitlement to abortion on the grounds of those events, knowing that the perpetrators will be exposed to arrest, and they to retaliation. It looks nice and simple from above. It often isn't in reality.
