Hi KZNerd; Regarding terminating those DIMM pins... My gut tells me that you would want to do a simulation of the situation before relying on no termination (or serial termination) on the data pins to a rambus DIMM module.

Some great links:

I've been away for 2 days, if I'm still getting $h:t about rambus vs. DDR power consumption calculations, I'm going to post those links with some quotes to the thread. I really like how everybody has been willing to discuss things rationally. It's great that people are sitting around reading data sheets. It's the only way to learn, and it is not an easy experience.

Learning is hard, I have probably mostly forgotten how hard it was for me. Ah, for my salad days, when I was an amateur and I knew all there was to know about electronics...

I remember on an early project, I needed a 7400 quad nand gate. Radio Shack was out of them, but they had an "open collector" quad nand, which was pin compatible. So I put that in, but found that my circuit was a little intermittent. :)
