I appreciate the reply to my query, but I doubt if I will ever trade that quickly so I can benefit from a direct access broker. I am wading my way through the thread summary and picking up some pearls.

I just switched to Datek from Schwab and, at $10 a trade, I'm very happy.

My strategy now is to find the leaders in a new industry--such as internet gambling--and hold on for 3-5 years, trading a little on runups. Less exhilarating, less exhausting, less stressful, but probably more profitable.
