Creative announced a design win for certain models of Compaq's high-end retail consumer PC line (Presario). That doesn't sound too bad. A much stronger OEM relation should be Dell with the Dimension line. However, if you check out Dell's recommended Dimension configurations, it appears that Dell is de-emphasizing the Creative card in all but the highest end model. Dell tends to do things like that in their online configurations when they are short on inventory. go2net.newsalert.com There was also a series of press releases about new products coming out of the Ensoniq ("Creative Labs Malvern") ASIC design subsidiary. go2net.newsalert.com Frankly, I have a very low esteem of the Ensoniq division. The announced notebook chip products are weak and late. The Twinhead design win is pathetic.
