For those shareholders who requested information regarding the status of Microphonics' defense of its trademark of "Utraphonics" with CTRL Systems, Inc.
According to Microphonics' attorney the following is an update to the trademark issue:
"Microphonics has successfully defended its trademark for the word "Ultraphonics" against an opposition filed by CTRL Systems, Inc. In an opinion issued on August 17, 1999, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) refused CTRL's request to reopen the matter and allowed its earlier judgment dismissing the opposition to stand. The Patent and Trademark Office had previously issued a registration for the trademark to Ultraphonics of North America, Inc., a Microphonics subsidiary."
