The "never sell DELL" mentality is foolish I agree...I've always been of the opinion that you can never fault a profit taker, regardless of how constructive he/she may be on a particular investment. There is also no danger in initiating a short or buying short dated puts on a stock if you are looking for a technical pullback or retracement, despite the fact that you may still be very bullish longer term. Where DELL is concerned, I find it difficult to pin point the reason for the stocks failure to ever follow through. Perhaps, as many have suggested, it is a "perception" issue of DELL the company, which hurts DELL the stock. This being the case,it is the responsibility of DELL management to develop a more effective investor marketing strategy, and re-evaluate how they disclose company news and key information...but who knows. For now, trade the range, and ignore the periodic flashes of brilliance, until DELL proves it has gained the ability to follow through...
