OT...to the max. Yeah, Finnish is only related to Hungarian and every word has about 26 cases. No prepositions. So the word meaning "to the 28th" would be "kahdenneksikymmenenneksikahdeksanneksi". That's an easy and fun way to weed out non-native Finnish-speakers. Basically nobody can learn the language after turning three. But it makes learning English a snap.
Lappland really is a common arctic area shared by Norway, Sweden and Finland. I think you're supposed to call the native people there "inuits" these days... we have this PC thing in Finland now as well. Calling them Lapps is culturally insensitive, because "Lappland" is a concept created by invading forces (which would be Finns, Swedes, etc). The struggle between Finns and Inuits took place about 3'000 years ago, but there are still some disputes about stuff like land-use. Some people still make a nomadic living up there by herding reindeers. They do have Nokias, though.
It's strange, but I haven't heard of the movie. I try to limit my intake of Nordic exotica, though... seeing movies like these is like being a Cuban and listening to "Guantanamera" for the 586th time. That number looks really cool in Finnish, as well.
