Not so far fetched when you think about it. If Dell would like to produce a hand held or lap top with wireless connectivity it could be a good fit. Imagine the new "Dell Hand Held" that also is a phone.
It seems like a good fit when you consider that phones are offering internet services and the lap tops that many people carry around are used primarily for internet use. Dell needs a product to replace those lost lap top sales.
The next wave communications includes nationwide wireless. Witness Bell Atlantic the largest local phone company posturing with Vodaphone for a nationwide cellular footprint. Sprint PCS with their CDMA nationwide coverage is adding customers at a much faster rate than BAM or anyone else. BAM must partner or buy out Vodaphone because the other nationwide services aren't CDMA. ATT has coverage but their equipment is antique TDMA. (Thats another story when T decides to upgrade to CDMA)
Q* is also an equity owner of Globalstar Satelite Systems. The new CDMA satelite service now being tested. If Dell is really serious about staying on the cutting edge of computer communications they should seriously talk to Q* and GSTRF. The all new DELL go anywhere hand held PC/Phone may be a reality.
