I believe you are right on. Again, Clayton Christensen recently said that the best position in the disruption game is Intel's - being the supplier to the distruptors.

I think the one difference between Q and Intel may be that Q had to do everything in the beginning - ground stations, handsets plus the chips and software - to get CDMA established. I do not know if Intel had the same challenge. Now, however, Q looks like it is heading for Intel-like status.

Another point - if Q pulled VSLI's license when Phillips bought them, what does this do to the potential value of DSP? I am certain that every license has a cancellation clause if ownership changes. DSP just became much less valuable to everyone, but Q.
