so why don't we change the basis of science to try to disprove a theory instead of changing it to fit there purposes

Actually, 'science' does exactly this. Theories are tested all the time. It is a prime requirement for a theory to be testable.
Newtons Gravitational theory is testable. Einstein's General and Special theories of relativity are testable. Creationist theory isn't. It's dogma. You believe it or you don't.
