A "buy American" campaign would be nice, but broadcasters
are more concerned with the bottom line and they'll go with the
vendors who offers the most.

A key here is to offer competent systems services, which includes
studio design and specifying products. Tek is a big player in the
systems services market, where Sony is the most dominant player.
