w molloy, let's be serious: Bonobos: what percent increase in their gene capacitance will Bonobos need before they can design a Windows 2000?

Let's see, I can already see a startling progression:

in descending order, most similar first...)
1.Man/Windows 2000
2. Bonobo chimp
3. Pongo chimp
4. Gorilla
5. Orang Utan

I can see definite progress here.

Perhaps a high schooler may not get it though.
Well the science Dept is going to have to work
overtime on this part of evolution,
:-))

Bonobos....

Criteria used is gene sequences.

The similarity list (in descending order, most similar first...)
1. Bonobo chimp
2. Pongo chimp
3. Gorilla
4. Orang Utan

Bonobo and H Sap are not 'way different' as you suggest. They just look different.
For example, we have the same number of hair follicles, in the same locations. Bonobos are as likely to walk upright. Bonobos are sophisticated tool
users. They have a demonstrable sense of self (as do all the primates)

Bonobos give us a startling picture of what life may have been like for our proto-human ancestors 2 million years ago.
