We just put our 13-1/2 old chihuhua/terrier cross down in April. This had to be the hardest thing we had to do in our life. Sandy was gotten when our youngest daughter was 9 months old. He was really a part of our family, he thought he should go everywhere with us. Especially went we went on our tandem bicycles (we have 2, my husband goes on one with our oldest daughter, and I go on the other with our youngest daughter. Well Sandy thought that he should go on too. So my husband (who works in tool & die) and I thought we would design a carrier for my husband's bike. Well ever since (which was 5 years ago) Sandy went everywhere we did with our bikes. He was our mascot and we met more people because of him. He was a great little guy who wasn't afraid of anyone or anything. (He confronted a horse that was coming down a path that we were hiking on once, barking, even though he was so much smaller than the horse. He also let our two cats know who was boss!
Now when we go biking, it really feels like somethings missing. Every time we turn around, making lunches or in the kitchen you expect to see him. It sure will take a long time to get over him.
Anyway, that's my story.
