"I took a 69% loss in Peoplesoft. Fell in love with the stock."

There was a dumb article I read yesterday where someone said MSFT stock was about to crash...that made me laugh...you and I know about Peoplesoft, but does the avg consumer? MSFT is probably the safest investment on the planet because it has no competition...Look at AOL stock, almost down half from it's alltime highs...how come MSFT never drops that much? People know about AOL, but they know the competition too...At Home, AT&T, Sprint, MCI Worldcom, Mindspring, etc...Yes AOL is the leader, but the competition is there...I wonder if the street even realizes MSFT has competition? That's the only stock anyone should hold and rest comfortably...not so much because it's such a great company, but because the street thinks it is....I wish the street started thinking the same about AOL again too :(
