Absent a big market correction, I am bullish on MSFT stock for the next couple months, as the release of Windows 2000 approaches. So, I'm going to hold the stock.

I agree that MSFT got VSIO cheap and it doesn't make sense on the face why Jaech & Co. would sell out for just $42. Heck, Jaech bought some shares last year for $35. I'm sure he wanted more than a 15% return. My guess is that VSIO just didn't think it could push into the corporate market fast enough or easily enough without help. Microsoft Office is the de facto standard (93% market share) so all of a sudden, they have this huge installed base of customers to sell to.

By riding MSFT to maybe $110, maybe I can get my $50 anyway.
