Applications aren't written to take advantage of bandwidth, they are written to perform tasks. If they are constrained by available systems, then they run faster when the constraint is reduced. They are still written, whether the bandwidth is limited or not.

The exception would be some benchmarks that don't necessarily have anything to do with real world performance.

Unclewest, I know you've read versions of that statement about waiting for apps from many sources that seem like they ought to be credible, but if you think about it, it doesn't really make much sense.
