Larry,
Thats great news. One of the reasons for building the Nashville plant for Dimension product was the ability to deliver within 24 hours to consumers due to the competition like GTW especially to the East coast.
Apparently the regional location of Nashville is close to
some of Dell's shippers like Fedex, and one other makes it possible to ship that evening and get to east coast next morning easier than from Texas, (I think its the cut off time is longer). Remember Gateway has a strategy of 3 plants located in HamptonVA, SiouxCIty, and SaltLake city, to give them an advantage.
The plants I referred to about working nights weekends are mainly ones in Austin for Corp desktop, server, workstation and notebook.
Dell's October is always the biggest month, and its started early in my opinion.
Good trading.
