But you have to admit that TA can be a dangerous tool in the hands of the unskilled or unscrupulous.

A business associate of mine has been a Q holder for 3 years, mainly by accident. When I found out last month, I updated him on Q's progress and urged him to add to his modest position, which he did.

On Tuesday, his broker called and urged him to sell; she knows nada about Q, but claimed the graph showed Q was very overextended, and spouted some pseudo technical analysis.

Come to think of it, this isn't about TA; it's about why brokers are the second largest cause of rotten returns. Imo, the first is diversification.
