<< I saw I could have handled Koresh well I'm 99% sure and if not I would have got him alone for a minute and tossed him out a window. >> I wish that you had a chance. Perhaps you could have done a better job. The ATF really screwed up in Waco, and got some of America's finest agents murdered by Koresh's thugs. The ATF invaded a compound of heavily armed religious nuts, who were planning for an apocalypse, and who were possibly holding children as hostages. To attack the compound was an insane and ill planned military maneuver. But, the attack on Waco was not our government going nuts or becoming repressive. It was a case of a single incident of very poor management. I hope that those responsible for the planning of that fiasco are no longer making decisions within the ATF. If any federal or local laws were violated by the ATF management, they should be charged with the offenses. Perhaps the latest rounds of hearings on Waco will bring justice to the slain ATF agents. << They were repeatedly portrayed in the press as dangerous, insane, bloodthirsty fanatics. >> Well........ unfortunately they were right. << "They're just all nice, decent, normal people," he said. "Well, not normal." >> That was also said about Jonestown before the leaders had all of their members poisoned. It was also said about Ted Bundy during the time he was killing many women. << The ATF's "storm trooper tactics" were "a vulgar display of power on the part of the feds," said former Waco District Attorney Vic Feazell. >> I agree. The ATF overreacted to a very dangerous situation. Again, I hope those that made the Waco decision are no longer with the ATF. << Gary Coker, a Waco lawyer, said he believed Koresh wouldn't hurt anyone unless he was bothered by outsiders. >> Thank God that a Jehovah's Witness didn't come to the door! POW! <g> << The main difference in the Dividians is they lived a sort of monastery life ... >> The stockpiling of weapons of war and the molesting of children = monastery life? Perhaps so.....
