StuieDavis, evolution is taught in Catholic schools.

Catholicism has no problem with it.

They believe that God could have created man through
an evolutionary process and somewhere intervened and provided him/her with a soul and human mind.

So no creationism is taught there.
What they teach instead is simply Creation itself.

Again, Re: evolution is a fact: if you read your
son's APBiology textbook it does not say it is a fact.
What it says is that organism B is believed to have arisen from very similar organism A .

The language in any APBio book is not as absolutist as in a math, physics or chemistry textbook.

If Evolution was a fact it would no longer be called a Theory.
We would simply be taught " Evolution ".
Just like we are not taught the theory of Gravity in
Physics, but simply Gravity.

This is an important semantic point,

Evolution, although a touchy subject with religious groups, is a scientific fact. It is what much of the way humans think of the world is based upon. I think
it is important to learn the theory of evolution so one can be an informed and educated member of society. Learning and believing in something are two
very different things. The school district who banned evolution from the curriculum is doing those children no favors. What happens when those very
students graduate and move on to college? Just because one doesn't agree with a viewpoint is no reason for him to pretend it does not exist.
