I see 'Eenadu' is No.2. 'Malayala Manorama' appears to have slipped in its standing but I see 'Mathrubhumi' is in the list as well.

The entire population of Kerala is less than 3 crores. If we assume that 60% of this population is old enough to read, the 90.6 lakh readership implies that Malayala Manorama has half the market sewn up. It is very difficult to grow beyond this, especially since Kerala is already as literate as it is ever going to be and its population has stabilized.

A related point. Did you see that article in Rediff which said that an "equitable" redistribution of Loksabha seats will give Kerala 18 instead of the present 20? Ah..., the rewards of population control!
