Bonehead emile even if there were a God relinquishing your
own self would remain untenable. You are not actually
doing it, only pretending that you are when it suits
your purposes (like faith in your infalibility) with its
concomitant consequences which you are unaware of (I
guess Jesus forgot to tell you about them).
