Interesting. Do you suppose that Intel has a particular business model in mind? Guess they have already said they want to be the dominant supplier of network building blocks to a variety of network "box" makers (analogies to the PC industry model?).

I like the idea of "Intel inside Cisco". Broader bandwidth networks drive the need for faster and better CPU's which in turn requires even fatter pipes,driving even faster CPU's, etc, etc.. Intel get a piece of the action at each iteration. Less severe business cycles? Sounds like a self-sustaining positive feedback loop for Intel's future business.
