"IBM Japan, Banks Provide 24-Hour Cashing Service in Convenience Stores
September 16, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Banks, convenience stores and computer manufacturers in Japan on Sept. 17 will jointly establish a financial service company that provides 24-hour cashing on automated teller machines (ATMs) installed in convenience stores...

...The service will be available at 234 convenience stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa and Shizuoka prefectures beginning in October 1999. Aiming at spring 2001, the company plans to expand the service at as many as 5,000 locations nationwide.

Its future plan will expand that service to include investment trusts and electronic money settlements using IC cards.

The new company tentatively called, "e.NET,"
is capitalized at 860 million yen. IBM Japan's Takayuki Kamioka, finance sector manager, will be the president of the company.

"e.NET" , and soon its Prez's name will become everyday household words !

Web thanks for your interest in my "missing" IBM award boat . When IBM clears $160 at year end , I might just have enough to buy a submerged salvage boat from left over from hurricane Floyd .

Would have been about the same ;>)
