Franklin Telecom 10K Shows 672% Growth in Revenues; Sales Top Ten Million for Year WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1999-- Franklin Telecom (AMEX:FCM) has filed its 10K with the SEC for the year ended June 30, 1999. Net sales increased by $9,254,000 or 672% from $1,377,000 in the year ended June 30, 1998 to $10,631,000 in the year ended June 30, 1999. In addition, this year had a net loss of $2,413,000 as compared to last year's $4,507,000, for a reduction in losses of 46%. According to Franklin President Peter Buswell, the increased revenues are primarily due to a dramatic boost in hardware sales. Franklin manufactures a full line of hardware and software which enables Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications, including a family of Data Voice Gateways (DVG's) which range from 2 to 96 ports. Franklin Chairman & CEO Frank Peters stated, "The market for VoIP is coming of age. Our hardware sales reflect this. We are pleased to note that FNet Corp., our Next Generation Telco subsidiary, also experienced significant growth in service revenues. We have discovered that our hardware sales often engender service revenues, as well, when the purchasers of our DVG products choose to connect to the FNet network and/or run their off-net minutes through the Harris 20/20 switch in our Network Operations Center." Peters went on to say, "We have two especially exciting products headed for market before the end of the calendar year: the Breeze(TM) offers a 2 port Gateway with a built-in router which brings IP connectivity to your desktop in a sleek little unit smaller than a typical modem box. The Carrier Class Typhoon(R) at the other end of our product spectrum, packs 96 ports into a 3 1/2 inch chassis. The Typhoon, in contrast to most competitors, is single-board based while retaining compatibility to current and projected industry standards. Like all of our Data Voice Gateways, the Typhoon is Linux based. All Franklin IP products have full compatibility with each other, allowing for ease in upgrades and expansion." Peters continued, "The last year has seen Franklin establish a foothold in the growing VoIP market. The addition of the Breeze and Typhoon to our hardware arsenal gives us well-founded reason to expect continued growth."
