"Drive on a chip" & PSII biz.yahoo.com When I first heard that LSI lost the CPU for PSII but got the I/O chip, I wondered how much 'value' that might be. When Wilf said that the PSII chip is more value to the PSI chip, I wondered how that could be. When I found out two days ago that the PSII has a hard d, my guess was the "I/O" chip must have a hard d controller incorporated. I think my guess is right - that I/O chip must have a lot of stuff - hard d controller, I/O, 'modem', PSI core etc. In the drive to lower cost for hard d, it would be advantageous for the hard d guys to go down to one chip. If LSI can get this drive-on-a-chip qualed, the volume can be very significant in a real hurry. patrick
