Dear JDN, as others have noted, MSFT will have trouble if it has to compete in the marketplace.

The company's stranglehold on the desktop has allowed the company to flood the market with inferior products.

[ Were I Bill Gates, I would most certainly VASTLY diversify my holdings to the extent permitted by the SEC.]

In the summer of 1998 (or around the time the anti-trust trial started), I noticed that MSFT co-founder, Mr. Allen sold huge blocks of MSFT stock. Of course, Mr. Allen has his own business ventures. Actually, he has many business ventures. He even dresses like a businessman these days. Probably, it was a coincidence that he sold MSFT stock at that time. Still, I always wondered about those huge sales.......
