The merger of Euro-Nevada Mining Corp. Ltd. and Franco-Nevada Mining Corp. Ltd. will create an opening in the TSE 300 that may be filled as early as tomorrow. The leading candidate for inclusion is Zi Corp. because the quoted market value of the share float was C$490-million at the close on August 31, the date of record for any inclusion this month. Scotia Capital Markets index specialists reckon inclusion could set off some trading fireworks.
