I don't know, but i think Bearcatbob does, he's a yanqui playing a lot of Canadian stocks, and has posted above - Message 2188247

Different times i've thought of starting a thread called 'Crossing The Border', dealing with tips on how US residents can most efficiently trade Canadian stocks, and vice versa ... two other places to ask [where the question has been discussed before, maybe you can find something using the search function] - Subject 22429
Subject 17503

The border can cost you if you don't watch out - i just had a nice 2.5-bagger on a Nasdaq stock, but between the exchange rate and the ridiculous commission at a full-service broker, it got carved back almost to a double. But there are better ways, and people who do it all the time know them. One thing is - run an account in that currency, so they don't hit you with exchange rate spread all the time.

FM whacking the .14s again today ... i opined yesterday that they could be a little short .... well, what if the client on whose behalf they were short was DeBeers?? ... we shouldn't ignore the possibility, since we know how those people play, having observed how they treated Southernera. And got away with it, too. It's a hardball world. And it's easy to see how they would want dmw, given current trends. Oh well - they can have some of my paper at .50+ -g-
