LIONS GATE ENTERTAINMENT CORP. ANNOUNCES BILLY ZANE TO STAR IN DEAN
KOONTZ'S ``SOLE SURVIVOR' A FOUR-HOUR MINISERIES FOR FOX BROADCASTING

Billy Zane (``Cleopatra,' ``Titanic') will star in a four-hour
miniseries based on Dean Koontz's chart-topping suspense novel, SOLE
SURVIVOR, it was announced today by Tom Patricia, President, Lions Gate
Television Pictures. Production will begin in Vancouver on Oct. 18,
1999.
``Bringing Dean Koontz and Billy Zane together makes a television event,
' Patricia said. ``I am delighted to be working together again with
Dean Koontz and FOX Broadcasting.'
In SOLE SURVIVOR, Zane plays a former crime reporter haunted by the
plane crash that killed his wife and daughter. When he discovers that
there may have been a sole survivor, he also finds out that a deadly
and bizarre conspiracy will stop at nothing to keep the true facts
hidden.
Koontz is one of America's favorite authors. Seven of his novels have
reached number one on the best-seller lists including ``Sole
Survivor,' ``Lightning,' ``Midnight,' ``Cold Fire.' ``Hideaway,'
``Dragon Tears' and ``Intensity.' His novels ``Intensity' ``Mr.
Murder' and ``The Face of Fear' were all previously adapted for
television.
Lions Gate Television Pictures currently is producing ``Shutterspeed,'
starring Steve Borden for TNT. In post-production for Lions Gate is
``Final Run' starring Robert Urich for CBS. ``First Daughter,' from
Lions Gate, was the highest rated movie of all time on basic cable when
it aired recently on TBS, achieving an overall rating of 6.9.
