Akula, you are blessed to have parents who can make you care about your education whether you want to or not.
My children went to private school until they were in high school. And they did learn discipline, and good study habits, which was a great help in high school and college.
But I made it clear to them that whether they got all A's or flunked, it was their life, and they were responsible for their grades. If they didn't do well in school, and worked for minimum wage, they'd better have a strong back. And if they chose to do that, it wouldn't affect the quality of my life.
I know that my sound cruel and heartless, but the point was made, that they were responsible for their own life.
BTW they are both college graduates, both graduated with honors. One with highest honors. They are both responsible, self-supporting adults.
